My teaching

Yoga for me is a powerful tool for living. It helps us to become more at home in our bodies and more present in our minds. It is a joy to share it through my teaching!

I am a fully accredited yoga teacher through the British Wheel of Yoga.

My yoga classes integrate a steady movement practice with conscious breath and mindful enquiry. The physical practice draws from a range of forms and is rooted in healthy alignment as a basis from which to cultivate a strong, open and balanced body. The aim of my classes is to offer a wakeful and considered approach to yoga that empowers us to live healthier, happier and more satisfying lives.

I regularly run yoga courses and workshops including a 6 week Yoga Foundation course.

My practice and on-going learning

I first came to yoga in my twenties and worked with the Ashtanga method for a number of years, developing a mysore practice and being inspired by a range of teachers, particularly the wonderful David Swenson who I have undertaken teacher training with. Since then, I've enjoyed two transformational years of teacher training with Mimi Kuo-Deemer and Jean Hall through Triyoga and have the pleasure of regularly assisting Mimi in her classes at Triyoga. I am particularly interested in the therapeutic possibilities of yoga and have recently begun training in Trauma Sensitive Yoga.

Today, my exploration and teaching is focused on practicing in a way that develops a greater sense of freedom in both the body and the mind. Through my personal practice and teaching of mindfulness, I have a developed a deeper appreciation for the magic ingredient in life and in any yoga practice- moment to moment awareness. This focus brings us in touch with the nature of the mind and offers a kind and skillful way to recognise, attend to and release ourselves from unnecessary friction with life. This work shapes my personal practice and teaching and in my experience is a direct way of tapping into the liberating potential of yoga.

I am also a Level 2 trained Mindfulness Trainer. To find out more please visit Mindful Life London
